Woai arrived back in Shanghai yesterday and I decided to welcome him back with a feast of bland italian food (it never tastes as nice as my nonna’s cooking…).

I tried the oven in my new apartment first time and my first impression is that it’s of the gurkha kind and you have to draw blood every time you use it, or at least near on burn yourself to death. Here’s yesterday’s renommierschmiss, courtesy of the fiddly 200°C grill pan:
