I took line 5 a couple of times this week for the first time in ages, as the train was pulling into the station I noticed that every carriage had an enormous bright orange/red wheelie bin chained to a post.

Inside each one was an enormous lump of ice (although in the pic below, taken in the afternoon it’s melted down a lot).

Not sure I get it really, the air conditioning seemed to be working perfectly fine and the one I saw in the morning was basically being used as a rubbish bin and spittoon, nice! Maybe the air-con just needed a bit of extra help?
