I picked up a few interesting stocking fillers at the weekend courtesy of the underground shopping mall at People’s Square (which for some reason I never knew existed).
I can’t write about all of them or else I’ll spoil the surprise for a couple of the readers but anyway, first up the Japanese seem to have a thing for “endless toys” at the moment, things which emulate small tasks which are mundane yet pleasing. I first saw the endless banana on another blog (which simulates peeling a banana) a few weeks ago and had my eyes open ever since.

I picked up infinite bubble wrap and infinite pea-shelling for a grand total of 50rmb and let me tell you, the hours have flown by since I got them. Oh, you’ll notice the endless pea-sheller (I have no idea what to call it) is missing, it seems to have magically transferred itself to H’s phone.

Still not convinced? Have a look at this video, those are TEARS OF JOY no less!!! (I hope that’s what it is anyway, you can never be sure with the Japanese!)
Apparently there’s another one which simulates opening packages (you know the ones with the tear strip) but I’m holding out for endless spot-squeezer which must be just round the corner and far more satisfying.
What else, oh, yes, this was a bit random, it’s a cuddly toy in the shape of a turd which makes BOING noises every time you touch it????

Hmm, not sure what I’m getting for Christmas but, mum, if you’re reading this and you’re stuck for a last minute stocking filler how about one of these?
